Carl Junction football players Joey Braeckel and Andrew Clark competed in the Southwest Missouri Football Coaches Association All-Star game this year.
Seniors from throughout the area were selected to compete in the east-west showdown at Springfield's JFK Stadium on Friday, June 6. All proceeds from the game went to charity.
"This is a great way for two very good student athletes to finish their high school career," Carl Junction Head Coach Bret Gosch stated. "This is a great family experience that everyone should make an effort to attend. It showcases some of the best talent in the state of Missouri in a fantastic environment."
Gosch, who was on the sidelines as an Assistant Coach for the West Team, added, "I am very happy for them and to get to be on the sideline with them one last time."

Both players have
also signed letters of intent with Pittsburg State University. The signing ceremony was held February 4th in the CJHS Library.
"Andrew and Joey have worked very hard for the last four years as Bulldogs," Coach Bret Gosch stated. "It is great to see that they want to continue playing at the next level. It is very rewarding to see that a program such as Pittsburg State recognizes their potential to help maintain their program as one of the best DII schools in the country. I am looking forward to seeing them on the field again."
Both players were honored this season by the Big 8 Conference, 1230 The Fan radio and the Southwest Missouri Football Coaches' Association. Braeckel received the team's "Bulldog Award" while Clark was named "Defensive MVP".
